Patient Care

Out-Patient Dept

The neurology department runs outpatient clinics on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Patients with neurological disorders are referred from all over the Kanyakumari district and neighboring districts. On average, about 3000 patients are seen per month.

In addition to the regular neurology op, we operate Neuro subspecialty clinics with a unique combined neurology and neurosurgery clinic where we provide comprehensive services to neuro patients who need special attention.

Inpatient Care

Patients who need inpatient care are admitted to the well-equipped neurology ward directly from neurology OPD and neuro patients admitted to other wards are transferred to the neurology ward if the situation warrants it. At any point, a large number of critically sick patients with various diseases are under the care of neurology services.

The neurology unit handles all kinds of neurological problems, both acute and chronic. Patients with acute stroke, Guillain Barre Syndrome, and Myasthenic crisis are some of the acute cases admitted for treatment. We have experience in the treatment of immune-mediated diseases of the nervous system. Plasma exchange is being done for patients with Guillain Barre Syndrome, acute disseminated encephalomyelitis, and myasthenia gravis.
